Writer/Director Steve Oedekerk (Jimmy Neutron, The Nutty Professor) kicks the karate film genre up a notch by inserting new scenes, new dialogue-and himself-into an obscure Hong Kong martial arts flick from the '70s. The result is a ridiculously funny, must be seen to be believed movie! In order to avenge his family's death, a legendary warrior named The Chosen One (Oedekerk) wanders the countryside in search of the murderous Master Pain, also known as Betty. Filled with fist-flying action, incredible special effects and outrageous kung foolishness, this martial arts mockery delivers knockout laughs from beginning to end!
Bulletproof Monk:

Now, faced with finding the scroll's next guardian, the Monk's quest brings him to America. Jet Li (Romeo Must Die) plays Liu Jiuan, China's top government agent, who arrives in Paris from Shanghai to assist Richard (Tcheky Karyo, The Patriot), a corrupt French police inspector, with a top secret mission to uncover an international drugs conspiracy. The mission goes horribly wrong, as the man Liu came to help, betrays him. Accused of a murder he did not commit and on the run in a city he doesn't know, Liu befriends an American woman, Jessica (Bridget Fonda, Jackie Brown), who Richard has forced into prostitution. As Jessica and Liu go up against their cunning and ruthless adversary, Liu makes a promise to Jessica that could compromise his career - and even his life. |
